This is the first announcement of the 3rd Japan-Taiwan ALMA Science
Meeting to be held in Chungli on 13-14 April 2007. The venue of the
meeting will be the National Central University of Taiwan.

WORKSHOP FORMAT
Now astronomers in Japan and Taiwan are putting their efforts together
to the ALMA project. In order to accelerate the discussion on the
science and collaboration between Japan and Taiwan, Japan-Taiwan ALMA
Science Meetings are held every 9 months since the end of 2005.
The 3rd Japan-Taiwan ALMA Science Meeting will be 2-day workshop on
13-14 April 2007. The meeting is jointly hosted by the Institute of
Astronomy at National Central University and the Institute of
Astronomy and Astrophysics at Academia Sinica in Taiwan. The program
includes status reports of the project, recent activities in Japan and
Taiwan, and progress reports from sub-working groups as well as
scientific talks. New scientific topics and fresh idea on the
collaboration that were not discussed at previous meetings are highly
welcome. This time a special session focused on the planetary science
is also planned. This meeting will be the first Japan-Taiwan ALMA
Science Meeting hosted by the university. We encourage graduate
students to join the meeting and give oral or poster
presentations. There is no registration fee.
The arrangement of sub-working group meetings before the main workshop
is strongly recommended. (See below for the detail.)
VENUE
The venue of the meeting will be the National Central University. The
University is located in Chungli. It is about 30 minutes drive from
Taoyuan International Airport, and is about 10 minutes drive from the
downtown of Chungli city. The workshop will be held at the multi-media
room of the Grand Lecture Hall. It is located near the main gate of
the university, and it has a capacity of 100 person.

ACCOMMODATION
To benefit from the group discount rate, we arrange rooms at the China
Trust Hotel in Chungli. The room rates are 2,590 NT per night
(including breakfast) for a single room and 2,730 NT per night
(including breakfast) for a twin room including breakfast. If you
would like to reserve a room with the discount rate, please fill in
the check-in and check-out date in the registration form, and send it
to us before the deadline (5 March 2007). We will make a
reservation. The transportation between the China Trust Hotel and the
University will be arranged.

The organization of sub-working group meetings before the main
workshop is strongly recommended to maximize the output of the
meeting. The local organizing committee helps to reserve rooms at
National Central University for sub-working group meetings on 11-12
April 2007. Please send your request to the contact person.
